
Peschel Garners February WCHA Player of the Month Award

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State senior defender Emma Peschel was named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Defender of the Month for February, the league announced Monday.
Peschel finished the month with a team-high 12 points on three goals and nine assists in eight games played. She led the team with 16 blocked shots.
The Edina, Minn. native recorded at least a point in six of eight games played in February. She earned an assist in the win at No. 1 Wisconsin and tallied two points in the game one win against then-ranked No. 3 Minnesota at home. Peschel recorded seven points in the series at Bemidji State to close the regular season before added two points in the WCHA First Round series sweep of St. Thomas last weekend.
Peschel and the Buckeye blue line held opponents to 1.75 goals per game in February. The team tied for the least goals given up in the first round of the conference playoffs with just two in two games played.
