COLUMBUS, Ohio—The No. 16 Buckeyes (9-8, 4-5) will match-up against No. 10 Ball State (16-3, 7-2) at 6 p.m. Thursday in Muncie, Ind., at Worthen Arena and against No. 19 Purdue Fort Wayne (9-6, 4-4) at 2 p.m. Saturday at Gates Sports Center. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.Â

- The Buckeyes will continue their intra-conference play this weekend against Ball State, ranked No. 2 in the MIVA conference, and Purdue Fort Wayne ranked No. 6.Â
- Ohio State will be back at the Covelli Center next weekend vs Loyola University of Chicago and Lewis University March 19/21. The match vs Loyola Chicago will be Alumni Night at the Covelli Center, and Youth Day vs Lewis.Â
- In the series with Ball State, Ohio State owns a 106-94 record all time dating to 1968. The Buckeyes are 48-55 away in the series. Against Purdue Fort Wayne, Ohio State is 89-43 with a 40-31 away record. Â
- Shane Wetzel put up 19 kills in two matches last week, adding to his career total of 1,188 kills. Wetzel is currently ranked 13th in career kills all-time. Â
- Daniel Hurley finished with 17 kills, five service aces and 15 digs across two matches for the Buckeyes, highlighted by season highs of 11 digs and four service aces against McKendree.Â
- Stanislaw Chacinski currently sits at 498 career kills, adding two in the matches this weekend will push him to a career milestone of 500 kills. Â
- Following a team vote, Wetzel and Drew Hudson were named captains for the 2026 season. Hudson is the first sophomore to earn captain honors in the history of the program. Â
- Wetzel currently ranks 13th in Ohio State history with 1,188 kills for his career. He and sophomore Chacinski were named to the 2026 preseason All-MIVA squad. Â
- Wetzel and Chacinski both were recognized as 2025 AVCA Honorable Mention All-Americans after earning 2025 postseason Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association honors. In addition, the MIVA coaches voted Ohio State in the No. 2 position in the league 2026 preseason poll. Â
- In his seventh season, Kevin Burch achieved his 100th win as Ohio State's head coach (102-70) with the victory against Lincoln Memorial (3-0). Securing the win against the Railsplitters gave Burch win No. 100 to go with one regular-season MIVA title, a pair of league tournament championships and two NCAA Tournament appearances. Â
