Buckeyes In a Nutshell
- Ohio State is 2-0 entering the midweek matchup against the Knights. The Buckeyes earned their second win of the season by a 17-7 score against Cleveland State Saturday in the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.
- Tuesday's game will be the Buckeyes' first at Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium this season. The stadium is in its fourth season as the home of Buckeye Lacrosse after opening in January of 2023. Ohio State is 16-10 in games played at the stadium. The Buckeyes' home slate continues with non-conference matchups against High Point (Feb. 21), Notre Dame (March 7) and Denver (March 12) and Big Ten games against Penn State (March 28), Johns Hopkins (April 11) and Michigan (April 17).
- Ohio State is led in scoring by graduate attacker Alex Marinier with eight goals on the year. The Burlington, Ont. native has a goal in the last six games for the Buckeyes. With 86 goals for his career, he needs just 14 goals to become the 15th player in program history to record 100 career goals. He is also 10 points shy of 100 career points.
- Junior attacker Garrett Haas is tied with Marinier for a team-high eight points, good for fourth in the Big Ten. He has a point in the 18 games he has played for the Buckeyes over the last two seasons.
- Junior faceoff specialist Jack Oldman is 30-for-37 through two games and leads the Big Ten in faceoff wins and win percentage (.811). His 22 ground balls in two games lead the team and conference. Ohio State's 89 ground balls lead the league through two games played. Oldman's success at the faceoff X has the team's faceoff win percentage at a Big Ten-best 79.6 percent.Â
- Ohio State was picked 10th in the preseason polls by the USILA and Inside Lacrosse and 11th by USA Lacrosse Magazine. The team was picked third in the Big Ten's preseason coaches' poll.
- Head coach Nick Myers is in his 18th season at the helm of the Buckeyes. In his Ohio State career, he has led the team to a 147-110 record. He is assisted by associate head coach Travis Crane and assistant coaches James Purpura and Justin Tuma.
- Ohio State is 12-1 all-time against Bellarmine with wins in the last nine matchups.
- Tuesday's marks the third meeting in as many seasons for the teams. Last season, Ohio State won, 16-4.
- The Buckeyes and Knights were previously conference opponents from 2007-14 as members of the ECAC and GWLL.Â
