COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 9 Ohio State men's lacrosse team faces off against High Point for the first time in program history Saturday. The Buckeyes (4-0) and Panthers (1-1) meet at noon Saturday, Feb. 21 from Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.

Buckeyes In a Nutshell

The Buckeyes are 3-0 at home this season entering this weekend's matchup in Columbus. The team started the season with three straight home wins against Detroit Mercy (19-3), Cleveland State (17-7) and Bellarmine (11-6).

Saturday's game against High Point is the first meeting between the programs. Ohio State is 14-12 all-time against teams currently in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
The Buckeyes lead the Big Ten in face-off winning percentage (.706), ground balls per game (41.00), man-up offense (.700), scoring defense (6.25) and scoring margin (9.00). The marks are also good for top five nationally.
Ohio State's faceoff unit is led by junior Jack Oldman, who has earned a nation-leading 71.7 percent win percentage. He also is averaging a league-best 7.25 ground balls a game.
Senior defenseman Jonny Cool leads non-faceoff players on the team with 12 ground balls. Cool has started four games for the Buckeyes at close defense this year and has also caused three turnovers.
In goal for the Buckeyes, junior Caleb Fyock is 4-0 with a .588 save percentage and a conference-best 6.07 goals against average.
Ohio State is one of six teams in the country averaging under seven goals allowed per game. The Buckeye defense has not allowed a team to double digit goals this year.
Ohio State's man-up offense is led by Alex Mariner, who leads the country with four extra man goals on the year. Jackson Birtwistle, Jack Deliberti and Liam White have also scored man-up for the Buckeyes.
Junior attackman Garrett Haas leads the Buckeyes with 18 points on the year. He leads the Big Ten with 12 assists in four games.
Haas, Marinier, Birtwistle and Jake Struck have at least a point in every game this season for the Buckeyes.
Ohio State improved to ninth in the USILA Men's Coaches Poll this week after starting the season ranked 10th. The team is receiving 329 points in the poll. Ohio State is set to play seven ranked opponents in the 2026 regular season.
Head coach Nick Myers is in his 18th season leading the Scarlet and Gray. In his Ohio State career, he has led the team to a 149-110 record. He is assisted by associate head coach Travis Crane and assistant coaches James Purpura and Justin Tuma.
