COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's golf team travels to Sarasota, Florida, this weekend to compete in the Spartan Sun Coast Invitational. The 15-team field includes 12 teams ranked among the top 60 in the latest NCAA Division I rankings and one school ranked among the top 10 in Division II.
- The Buckeye lineup will feature Nellie Ong, Marina Joyce-Moreno, Kary Hollenbaugh, Maty Santilli, and Sophie Eppelstun. Mandy Song will compete as an individual. Marina Joyce-Moreno will carry the Folds of Honor bag.
- Kary Hollenbaugh is the reigning champion of the tournament, having captured the title the past two years. She earned her first collegiate victory at this event two years ago.
- Last year, Hollenbaugh finished with a 54-hole score of 207 (-9), marking six consecutive rounds in the 60s. She led the 81-player field in par-4 scoring at four-under and tied for second with 13 birdies.
- The last time the Buckeyes competed in this tournament, they tied for first place with a team score of 860 (-4) after carding a four-under 284 in the final round.
- Ohio State tied host school Michigan State but was declared runner-up after a tiebreaker comparing the third-round scores of the fifth player in each lineup. Michigan State's Brooke Biermann shot a 72, while Ohio State's Marina Joyce-Moreno shot a 76.
- The Buckeyes led the 15-team field in par-3 scoring (even) and ranked fourth in pars (178) and fifth in birdies (43).
- Ohio State last competed at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge at Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes Estates, California, placing 12th with a 54-hole score of 884 (+4). Nellie Ong led the team, finishing 27th with a final score of 216 (+6).
- The Buckeyes return to competition March 2–4 at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
