
Ohio State Hosts No. 3 Nebraska on Saturday Afternoon in Covelli

The Buckeyes and Huskers begin conference action on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 5 Ohio State men's gymnastics team (3-2) hosts No. 3 Nebraska (2-1) on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET inside the Covelli Center. The meet will be broadcast on B1G+. All home meets feature free admission and parking. There will be a meet and greet with the team after the meet.
- Ohio State ranks fifth in the nation in the Road to Nationals rankings after finishing second as a team (318.050) in the Stanford Open this past Saturday. The Buckeyes improved their team score by 6.750 over their season-opening score the week before.
- The Buckeyes have had five individuals qualify for the Winter Cup, to be held in Louisville on Feb. 20 and Feb. 22. Drake Andrews, Kristian Grahovski, Jesse Pakele and David Ramirez will all compete in the all-around competition, while Parker Thackston will compete on pommel horse.
- Andrews (79.400), Pakele (78.050) and Ramirez (79.800) have all earned a career-high in the all-around this season and currently rank in the top 10 in the country. Ramirez leads the group at second in the country, while Andrews won the all-around at the OSU Open and was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week on Jan. 20 for his performance.
- Last weekend at the Stanford Open, Pakele (13.850) and Chase Davenport-Mills (13.600) each stuck their final pass on floor to finish second and third in the event, respectively. Ramirez was the runner-up in the all-around (79.800) and also finished third on high bar (14.050) and tied for third on parallel bars (13.950).
- Prior to the season, Pakele and Ramirez were named Big Ten Gymnasts to Watch.
- Pakele and fellow senior Justin Ciccone are serving as this season's team captains. This is Ciccone's second consecutive season being captain.
