Buckeyes Open 2026 Season With OSU Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State artistic swimming team begins the 50th season in program history this weekend, hosting the OSU Invitational Saturday, Jan. 24 against Stanford and Michigan. The meet will begin at 1 p.m. at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
Admission for artistic swimming meets is free. Paid parking is available in the lots and garages surrounding the facility.
Ohio State's 2026 roster includes 20 returners and five newcomers. The roster features representatives of three countries, nine states and two Canadian provinces.
Among the returners to the roster this season are 2025 All-Americans Scarlett Finn, Keana Hunter, Ruby Remati and Emma Spott. Remati was also an All-Collegiate performer in 2025.
The Buckeyes finished third at the 2025 U.S. Collegiate Championships with Remati and Rikki Evans earning national titles in technical competition. In routines, Ohio State placed second in solo and trio and third in team. Ohio State has won 33 national titles in program history with its last championships in 2022 and 2023.
Ohio State is led by head coach Holly Vargo-Brown who has led the program for the last 14 seasons and has been a member of the team, both as a coach and as a student-athlete. She has had a hand in 26 of the program's national titles. Vargo-Brown is assisted by Monica Velazquez-Stiak, who is in her fourth season on the coaching staff after competing for the Buckeyes from 2015-18.
Following this weekend's meet, Ohio State hits the road to compete in the UIW Invitational Jan. 30-31 in San Antonio, Texas, The Buckeyes are back home Feb. 7 to host the annual Jessica Beck Memorial meet at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
