COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 12/11 Ohio State women's basketball team (18-2, 7-1 B1G) used a strong second half to defeat Indiana (11-9, 0-8 B1G) by an 81-67 margin on Thursday night inside the Schottenstein Center on PJ Night.

Each team put together a long run in the first quarter and Indiana led by a 21-17 margin after 10 minutes. The Buckeyes trailed by a 42-32 margin heading into the locker room. Ohio State used a 9-0 run midway through the third quarter to take its first lead of the game and held a 59-55 lead after three quarters of play. The Buckeyes outscored the Hoosiers 22-12 in the fourth quarter to earn the 81-67 win.

Kennedy Cambridge was the first Buckeye to reach double figures, doing so for the eighth time this season and finishing with 13 points to pair with six steals. Ava Watson made her first career start, tallying 12 points and six steals. Jaloni Cambridge (22), Chance Gray (13), Bryn Martin (11) and Elsa Lemmilä (10) also scored in double figures. J. Cambridge recorded the 200^th assist of her career.

Quarter-by-Quarter Recap

Q1: Indiana scored on the game's opening possession before Elsa Lemmilä evened the score. The Hoosiers got off to an early 19-4 lead following a 14-0 run. The Buckeyes responded with a 13-0 run of their own, capped by a three-point play from Bryn Martin, to cut the deficit to 19-17. Ohio State trailed 21-17 after 10 minutes.
Q2: Lemmilä opened second-quarter scoring and the Buckeyes got within one at 24-23 after back-to-back baskets. The Hoosiers led by a 29-26 margin midway through the quarter. Indiana scored the next seven points on the floor to build a 36-26 lead with two minutes remaining in the frame. The Buckeyes trailed 42-32 heading into the locker room.
Q3: Indiana used a 4-0 run to increase its advantage to 46-34 but Ohio State responded with seven unanswered points to get within five at 46-41 heading into the media timeout. The Buckeyes responded with a 9-0 run to take their first lead of the game at 50-47 on a three-pointer from Martin. Ohio State's defense held Indiana without a basket for more than 6:30 during the middle of the quarter. J. Cambridge made back-to-back jumpers to end the quarter with the Buckeyes up 59-55.
Q4: The Buckeyes scored back-to-back baskets to open the final quarter of play and later strung together five unanswered points to claim their first double-digit lead of the evening, 70-60, with six minutes remaining. Ohio State scored the final four points of the game to secure the 81-67 victory.
