Buckeyes Draw Clemson 1-1

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Junior midfielder Amanda Schlueter scored in the 82nd minute to pull Ohio State even and draw 1-1 with visiting Clemson on Thursday evening in the season opener.
Clemson jumped in front with a goal in the 31st minute from Renee Lyles. The score stayed that way through halftime and late into the second half. Schlueter then collected a ball around midfield, dribbled into the box and left-footed a shot past the keeper to even the score.
The goal was the 17th of Schlueter’s career and she now has 53 career points.
The Buckeyes had the upper hand for the majority of the match, outshooting the Tigers 19-15 and also earning four more corner kicks.

Ohio State hits the road next Thursday to take on South Carolina, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. The Buckeyes will then close out their weekend with a noon matchup at UNCW on Sunday.
