COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 25 Ohio State fell 1-0 at No. 16 South Carolina on Thursday evening in Columbia. Â
The Buckeyes are now 0-1-1 on the season and will continue their road trip this weekend at UNCW.Â
Ohio State came out strong in the first half, controlling possession and creating multiple scoring chances, looking like the better side in the first 45 minutes. South Carolina's Mackenzie Johnson found the back of the net less than one minute into the second half and the Gamecocks would hold on to the lead the rest of the way. Â
The Buckeyes outshot the Gamecocks 13-10 but were unable to find the equalizer. Â
Goalkeeper Molly Pritchard made three saves in the match, keeping the game close until the final whistle.Â
