
Ratliff Named a CSC Third Team Acdemic All-American

Senior standout earned degree this spring
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Sydni Ratliff, a Columbus native who recently completed her career with the Ohio State women's tennis team, has been selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Third Team.Â
Ratliff is the third Buckeye women's tennis player to be named an Academic All-American, joining two-time honoree irina Cantos Siemers (1st team/2023, 2nd team 2024) and Francesca Di Lorenzo (3rd team 2017).
For the third year in a row, Ratliff earned a spot on the CSC Academic All-District team. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 grade-point average at her current institution and must be in at least their second collegiate season. Academic All-District honorees were then considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot,
Ratliff was 21-10 overall in singles in 2024-25, with a 14-4 dual mark and 8-0 ledger in Big Ten action. She was selected the Big Ten Tournament Most Outstanding Player and to the B1G All-Tournament Team as the Buckeyes claimed the tournament title, going 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles in the tourney. She wrapped up her career 10th in program history with 86 singles victories. A two-time NCAA singles and doubles qualifier, Ratliff has been ranked as high as 15th in singles and fourth in doubles in her career. She was the 2022 Big Ten Freshman of the Year and is a two-time All-Big Ten honoree. Ratliff, who earned her degree in communications this spring, claimed the ITA Midwest Region doubles title in 2021.
