
Three Buckeyes Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State baseball pitchers Luke Carrell, Nik Copenhaver and Hunter Shaw earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors, announced by CSC on Tuesday.
In order to qualify for baseball's Academic All-District team, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Pitchers must have made at least 17 appearances on the mound or pitched at least 35 innings.
Carrell, a graduate student pursuing his Master of Business Administration, has a cumulative graduate school GPA of 3.52. He earned his undergraduate degree from Oklahoma, where he maintained a GPA of 3.79. In his first season with the Buckeyes, Carrell (1-2) made 18 appearances on the mound, tossing 23.1 innings. He struck out 30 batters.
Copenhaver, a sophomore economics major, has a GPA of 3.57. Copenhaver (0-2) was tied for the most appearances on the Ohio State pitching staff this season with 19. In 27.2 innings pitched, he fanned 28.
Shaw is a junior sports industry major with a cumulative GPA of 3.69. He earned three wins on the mound in 2025, making 19 appearances with two starts. He fanned 35 in 44.1 innings pitched and finished the season with a 6.09 ERA.
