
Chavez, Perry Earn All-America Accolades

Perry earns second All-America nod
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sophomores Teah Chavez and Luciana Perry of the Ohio State women's tennis team have been recognized with ITA All-America honors, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced.

The criteria for ITA All-America singles honors include winning the ITA All-American Championship, advancing to the round of 16 at the NCAA Championships or finishing in the top 20 of the final ITA singles rankings.

Perry garners her second consecutive award and is the third Buckeye to earn multiple singles All-America accolades. Irina Cantos Siemers was a three-time honoree (2021, '22, '24) and Francesca Di Lorenzo earned singles honors in 2016 and '17 and doubles accolades as well in 2017. Kristy Dascoli garnered singles and doubles honors in 2001. Chavez gives the Buckeyes six singles All-Americans all-time.

Both Chavez and Perry were unanimous First Team All-Big Ten selections this spring. The duo helped the Buckeye squad to a 24-4 record, Big Ten Tournament title and NCAA Super Regional appearance.

Perry reached the NCAA quarterfinals in the fall to earn her second All-America accolade and she finished the year ranked ninth. She was 32-7 overall in 2024-25 and had an 18-3 dual ledger, including a 9-1 mark in Big Ten play. She was 8-3 on court one and 10-0 on court two.

Chavez, who finished the year ranked No. 18, notched a 26-9 overall record in singles in 2024-25 and was 13-2 in dual play. She had a 5-0 B1G mark and was 6-1 on court one and 7-1 on court two during the spring.
