Buckeyes End Year in ITA Rankings

Program notches sixth consecutive Top 15 finish
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- In the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings for 2024-25, the Ohio State women's tennis team was sixth, with five Buckeyes ranked in singles and two ranked doubles teams.
This is the sixth year in a row the Buckeyes finished the year ranked among the Top 15 teams and it is the fourth time the squad has been in the Top 6 at the end of the season. In 2024-25, Ohio State started the year ranked 15th, with a low of 17th and high of No. 4. Ohio State has been ranked in the Top 25 since the start of the 2019 campaign.
In singles, Luciana Perry finished the year ranked ninth. She was No. 23 in the preseason and moved to No. 8 following a fall campaign that saw her win the ITA Midwest Regional and earn All-America honors after a quarterfinal run at the NCAA Championships. She was in the Top 10 throughout the spring, with a high of No. 7. Teah Chavez entered the rankings for the first time Feb. 5 at No. 55. She had a steady climb and ended the year at a career-best No. 18. Chavez and Perry are two of eight Buckeyes who have been ranked in the ITA Top 20 during their careers.
Sydni Ratliff finished her senior season ranked 82nd and was as high as No. 50 during the year, with a career best of No. 15 set in 2023. Freshman Nao Nishino, who was ranked for the first time Feb. 5, ended the year No. 96. Audrey Spencer's first ranking was at the end of the fall, with a high of No. 46, and she finished at No. 102.
In doubles, Perry and Chavez wrapped up the year ranked 24th. The duo, ranked for the first time Feb. 20 at No. 41, moved as high as No. 10 April 1. They are the seventh Buckeye tandem to earn a Top 15 ranking. Nishino and Spencer were included in the final two rankings of the season, ending at No. 79.
The Buckeyes were 24-4 on the year, reaching the NCAA Super Regionals. The squad was 12-1 in Big Ten play to finish second and then won the Big Ten Tournament with a 4-3 victory over top seed Michigan in the final.  Â
