Ohio State opens with exhibition against Notre Dame Aug. 9
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State, the defending Big Ten regular season and tournament champions, returns to the pitch in an exhibition against Notre Dame Aug. 9 (8 p.m.) at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.Â
The Buckeyes, who completed an historic season a year ago at the 2024 College Cup, will being the regular season on the road Aug. 21 at Virginia Tech (7 p.m.) at Thompson Field in Blacksburg, Virginia.Â
The home opener will be part of the annual Wolstein Classic in Columbus Aug. 28 against Oakland (7 p.m.). Dayton and Temple open the event earlier that day (4 p.m.). The Buckeyes will then take on Temple Aug. 31 (7 p.m.) in the final match of the event. Dayton takes on Oakland (4 p.m.) in the first match of the final day of competition.Â
The remainder of the nonconference schedule pits Ohio State at home against Akron (Sept. 5/7 p.m.) and Louisville Sept. 9 (7 p.m.). Ohio State then travels to Butler Sept 13 (7 p.m. ) in the final match before Big Ten play begins Sept. 19 at Michigan State (7 p.m.).
The league home opener welcomes UCLA to Columbus Sept. 29 (7 p.m.).Â
Brian Maisonneuve, head coach of the Buckeyes, begins his eighth campaign in Columbus following a 16-2-4 season in 2024 in which he was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year.Â
