COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State (6-9, 3-6 B1G) faces the Northwestern Wildcats (7-6-3, 2-5-2) Friday in the final match of the season at Martin Stadium. First touch from Northwestern Medicine Field is set for 8 p.m. and will be streamed on BIG+.
- On senior night, the Buckeyes pulled out a 1-0 victory over Penn State. Two recognized seniors, Tanner Creech and Ashton Bilow, highlighted the stat sheet after Creech netted a rebound from Bilow's shot off the post. It was Creech's second goal of the season and fifth of his career. For Bilow it was his second assist of the season and eighth of his career.
- Keeper Max Trejo recorded his 15th career shutout and third of the season. The Buckeyes defense held strong as the Wildcats recorded only two shots on goal and 11 total.
- Wildcats keeper Rafael Ponce De León is second in the Big Ten with 46 saves on the season and a save percentage of 75.4 percent.
- The Wildcats are coming off a 1-0 loss Tuesday at Wisconsin. Last week, Northwestern took down No. 17 Indiana 2-0.Â
- Midfielder Joe Suchecki leads Northwestern with 12 points including four goals and four assists.
- The 2024 Buckeyes beat the Wildcats 2-0, Max Trejo recorded a clean sheet, and Luciano Pechota recorded his third assist of the season. The Buckeyes hold a 24-14-5 all-time record against Northwestern.
