Hurge, Pechota Earn Big Ten Honors

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State freshman Aaron Hurge along with senior Luciano Pechota were recognized by the Big Ten Conference Thursday when the league released its 2025 end-of-season awards.
Hurge, a native of Bethesda, Maryland, was named to the All-Big Ten Freshman Team while Pechota was Ohio State's Sportsmanship Award honoree.Â
Appearing in all 16 matches this season, Hurge, a midfielder, also started seven times for the Buckeyes. He played more than 800 minutes and recorded two goals and an assist for five points during his rookie campaign.Â
Pechota, one of 10 players recognized on senior day in Columbus, played in 76 games with 60 starts as a midfielder during his career. He started in every match in each of the last three seasons. Pechota played in more than 1,400 minutes this season to end his career with 5,400 minutes played. He led the Buckeyes with five assists this season for a career total of 16. He also scored 11 goals over the last four seasons. Â
