COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State will host tournaments each of the next two weekends, beginning with the Buckeye Classic this weekend at Columbus Country Club. The first two rounds will be played on Friday, and the final round will be on Saturday morning.
- Ohio State’s lineup this week will consist of Joe Wilson IV, Jack Vojtko, Tyler Sabo, Timotej Formanek and Vaughn Harber. Topher Reed, Drew Mulcahy and Tyler Groomes will play as individuals.
- This is the first Buckeye Classic but not the first tournament Ohio State has hosted on Columbus CC. The Robert Kepler Intercollegiate was played at the course in 2022 as the OSU Golf Club readied for the NCAA Regional. Buckeye Maxwell Moldovan won the event at 11-under par.
- Sabo, Vojtko, Wilson IV and Harber have played in all eight stroke play events. Sabo leads the team with a 73.50 scoring average. He also leads the team with 72 birdies and five eagles.
- Vojtko has matched Sabo with three Top 20s and eight rounds at par or better on the year. He leads the team with four rounds in the 60s.
- Wilson IV is second on the team with a 73.55 scoring average, just one shot behind Sabo on the year. He too has eight rounds at par or better this season.
- Harber is averaging 73.86 on the season and leads the team with 92.1 percent of his rounds counting towards the team score.
- Formanek is coming off a final round 69 at the Valspar Collegiate a couple weeks ago and is averaging 74.11 with a pair of rounds in the 60s.
- The rain that flooded the area in the last week and a half has mostly moved out and temperatures will be in the upper 40s to low 50s for the two days.
- The Buckeyes will host the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate next weekend at the OSU Golf Club’s Scarlet Course to finish the regular season.
