No. 8 Buckeyes Take Second Big Ten Win Over Indiana

Ohio State is now 8-1 this spring

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 8-ranked Ohio State women's tennis team secured its second Big Ten win of the weekend, beating Indiana 4-0 Sunday in Columbus, Ohio. The Buckeyes are now 8-1 on the year and the Hoosiers are 6-6.

The Buckeyes secured the doubles point against Indiana. Audrey Spencer and Dani Schoenly clinched the first win for the Buckeyes, closely followed by the duo of Luciana Perry and Nao Nishino.
Spencer posted a shutout for the first singles match win, with victories from Nishino and Shelly Bereznyak to bring the Buckeyes to a 4-0 victory.
How it Happened

The first win of the day came from the duo of Audrey Spencer and Dani Schoenly, 6-1, on court three.
On court one, Luciana Perry and Nishino clinched the doubles point for Ohio State with a 6-2 victory.
No. 79-ranked Spencer posted a perfect 6-0, 6-0 win on court five over Magdalena Swierczynska to post the first singles point of the day, bringing the Buckeyes to a 2-0 lead.
On court two, No. 86 Nishino scored the next point with her 6-2, 6-1 victory over Marina Fuduric for a 3-0 advantage.
The Buckeyes rounded out the 4-0 win when Shelly Bereznyak secured a 6-0, 6-4 win over Nicole Sifuentes on court three.
Before play was suspended, Perry and Sydni Ratliff were both a game away from victory. Alessia Cau won her first set and was on serve at 3-3 in the second.

The Schedule Ahead

Ohio State is hitting the road for four matches, facing No. 3 Michigan March 15, Michigan State March 16, Maryland March 21 and Rutgers March 23.
The Buckeyes return home later this month with matches against UCLA March 28 and No. 21 Southern California March 30. Admission and parking are free for all Ohio State home matches.
