
Buckeyes Conclude Homestand Tomorrow vs. Youngstown State

Ohio State is 21-6-1 and has won seven of its last nine games
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State concludes an 11-game homestand on Wednesday when it hosts in-state foe Youngstown State at Buckeye Field beginning at 4 p.m.

Premier pricing will be in place for a select number of home games this season. Seating at Buckeye Field is general admission. A limited number of student tickets will be available for free at each game with a BuckID on a first come, first serve basis. Children under two years old and younger will be admitted free but must sit on an adult's lap.

Basics on the Buckeyes
- Ohio State enters Wednesday's game with a 21-6-1 overall record and on a three-game winning streak. Overall, the Buckeyes have won none of their last 11 games.
- The Buckeyes are ranked No. 22 in this week's Softball America poll, No. 20 in the D1Softball poll, No. 25 in the NFCA Coaches Poll and No. 25 in the ESPN/USA Softball poll.
- Ohio State has been powered by one of the nation's most potent offenses. The Buckeyes are averaging 7.80 runs per game, which is good for 14th-best nationally.
- The Buckeyes' 58 home runs are third-best nationally, as is their average of 2.04 home runs per game.
- All nine of Ohio State's everyday starters are batting over .300, led by Jasmyn Burns, who checks in with a .513 average, 10 home runs, 12 doubles and 34 RBI. Burns is 11th nationally in batting average and eighth in slugging percentage.
- Sami Bewick (.415, 15 RBI, .505 on-base percentage), Kami Kortokrax (.362, 21 RBI) and Morgan Frye (.340, four home runs, .527 on-base percentage) are also all part of the group of .300 or better hitters.
- In the circle, Lorin Boutte, a freshman, has a team-high 10 wins to go along with a 3.41 earned run average. She's averaging better than a strikeout per inning (73 Ks, 65.2 innings pitched).
Noting the Homestand
- During its current homestand, which covers 10 games over 12 days, Ohio State is hitting .371 as a team and scoring an average of 9.3 runs per game.
- Five of its eight wins have been by run-rule.
- The Buckeyes are averaging nearly three home runs per game (27 in 10 contests) and 5.5 extra base hits per game.
- Burns (.517), Bewick (.500), Hadley Parisien (.481) and Kortokrax (.429) are all batting .400 or better in the current 10-game stretch.
- In last weekend's three-game series vs. Nebraska, Taylor Cruse hit .556 with two home runs, a team-best eight RBI and a 1.333 slugging percentage. She hit home rns in wins on both Saturday and Sunday.
- Each one of the Buckeyes' four pitchers has at least one win on the homestand. Boutte has a team-best three while Kassandra Gewecke and Kennedy Kay have two.
More on Youngstown State
- The Penguins are 4-21 this season and opened Horizon League action last weekend with a doubleheader against Cleveland State.
- Following Wednesday's game, YSU will head to Detroit for a weekend series against Detroit Mercy.
- Youngstown State won the Horizon League regular season title last year and finished with a 36-17 overall record. It went 20-4 in conference play.
