Parker Thackston Named Big Ten Specialist of the Week

Thackston became the second gymnast in the country this season to earn a 15.000 or higher on pommel horse on Saturday.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced its weekly men's gymnastics awards on Tuesday. Junior Parker Thackston was named Big Ten Specialist of the Week for the third time this season following his performance at Michigan this past Saturday.

Thackston captured his sixth pommel horse title of the season on Saturday at Michigan. Thackston earned a season-best score of 15.050, becoming only the second gymnast in the country this season to earn a 15.000 or better on the event. He beat the runner-up by 0.450. Thackston also led off the Buckeye lineup on high bar. This season, Thackston ranks second in the country on pommel horse.

Ohio State hosts Illinois in the regular season finale on Tuesday, March 25 at 4 p.m. ET. Admission and parking are free.
