COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men's lacrosse team readies for its third game in the first week of the season with a matchup against Cleveland State Saturday in Columbus. First faceoff between the Buckeyes (1-1) and Vikings (0-0), the two Division I men's lacrosse programs in Ohio, is set for noon at Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.

Buckeyes In a Nutshell
- Ohio State enters Saturday 1-1 on the season after falling to Utah 19-13 in the season opener and picking up a 14-4 win over Detroit Mercy Tuesday.
- Sophomore Garrett Haas leads the Buckeyes with eight points and six goals in two games. The marks also lead the Big Ten. He has two multi-goal games this season. The Fairview, Texas native surpasses his career-best marks in goals and points in the first game of the season.
- Griffin Turner, a graduate transfer, has dished out a team and league-high six assists in his first two games as a Buckeye. He tallied three assists in each game for Ohio State.
- Sophomore Jack Oldman is 18-for-34 at the faceoff X for a .529 win percentage. He finished 13-for-19 and grabbed 12 ground balls in the win over Detroit Mercy and added his second career goal.
- The Buckeyes are tied for first in the Big Ten with 38.00 ground balls per game. Oldman leads the team and conference with 17 ground balls in two games and Blake Eiland and Cullen Brown lead non-faceoff Buckeyes with seven each.
- Ohio State is 3-for-5 man-up in week one of the 2025 season. Alex Marinier has two of the team's three EMO goals and is tied for first nationally.
- In goal for the Buckeyes, sophomore Caleb Fyock is 1-0 with a .630 save percentage in two games played. He has played in both games this year while Henry Blake earned the game one start and Macguire Scholl saw action in the final minutes of the win over the Titans.
- Cullen Brown has caused a team-high seven turnovers. The Buckeyes are seventh in the country with 11.50 caused turnovers per game.
- The Big Ten Network announced its spring 2025 broadcast schedule this week. Ohio State will appear on the network once during the regular season for its matchup at Penn State March 23.
- The Buckeyes' 14-game regular season campaign this year features eight matchups against 2024 NCAA Tournament teams, including all four Final Four teams. Seven of the team's 2025 opponents are ranked in the preseason USILA Coaches' Poll.
- Ohio State is 6-0-0 in the all-time series against Cleveland State.
