David Ramirez Named Big Ten Freshman of the Week

Ramirez earned a weekly honor for the first time in his career following his performance at the Winter Cup.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced its weekly men's gymnastics awards on Tuesday. Freshman all-arounder David Ramirez was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the first time in his career.
Ramirez competed in the all-around at the 2025 Winter Cup this past weekend. He finished 12th in the all-around with a combined score of 149.650 in his first all-around competition during his collegiate career. This included his collegiate debuts on floor, parallel bars and high bar. Ramirez improved his scores on floor, vault, parallel bars and high bar from Friday to Sunday and finished Sunday's competition with a 76.600 in the all-around.
This season, Ramirez ranks eighth in the country on vault (14.217) and 14th on pommel horse (13.733).
