COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 25 Ohio State women's golf team and Kary Hollenbaugh are in second place after the first two rounds of the Spartan Suncoast Invitational on Sunday at Palm Aire Country Club in Sarasota, Fla.
The Buckeyes had a phenomenal day on the course, carding a three-under 285 in round one and 291 (+3) in round two. Ohio State is even with a score of 576 and is in second place. The Buckeyes led the field of 15 teams in pars with 122.
Kary Hollenbaugh fired a three-under 69 in both rounds one and two. She has shot five straight rounds in the 60s to start the spring season. Hollenbaugh's two-round score of 138 (-6) puts her in second place. Hollenbaugh led the field of 81 players in par 4 scoring; she was four-under on par 4s. She had eight birdies on the day.
Nellie Ong is tied for 16th place with a two-round score of 145 (+1). She carded a 73 (+1) in round one and an even 72 in round two. Ong birdied six holes.
Faith Choi shot a one-under 71 in the first round and a 75 (+3) in round two. She is tied for 23rd with a score of 146 (+2) and she birdied five holes on Sunday.
Marina Joyce-Moreno shot an even 72 in round one and 76 (+4) in round two, She has an overall score of 148 (+4) and is tied for 35th. She had five birdies on the day.
Mandy Song shot rounds of 77 (+5) and 75 (+3). She is tied for 55th with a two-round score of 152 (+8).
Kavya Ajjarapu is competing as an individual. She carded a 79 (+7) and a 74 (+2) on Sunday and is tied for 64th with a 36-hole score of 153 (+9). Ajjarapu birdied five holes.
The final round of the Spartan Suncoast Invitational gets underway with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start on Monday, Feb. 17.
