COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women's golf junior Kary Hollenbaugh claimed her second straight title at the Spartan Suncoast Invitational, which wrapped up on Monday.
Hollenbaugh fired a 69 (-3) in the final round, finishing the tournament with a 54-hole score of 207 (-9). Hollenbaugh has now shot six straight rounds in the 60s to start the spring season. This is her third collegiate victory; she won the Spartan Suncoast Invitational in 2024 and opened the 2025 spring season with a victory at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge. Among the field of 81 players, Hollenbaugh shot best on par 4s; she was four-under. Her 13 birdies were tied for second-most.
The Buckeyes tied for first place with an overall team score of 860 (-4) after carding a four-under 284 in round three. Ohio State tied with host school Michigan State; the Spartans were ultimately declared the tournament champions on a tiebreaker in which they compared the round three scores of the fifth player in the lineup. Michigan State's Brooke Biermann shot a 72 and Ohio State's Marina Joyce-Moreno shot 76. The Buckeyes led the field of 15 teams in par 3 scoring, shooting even on par 3s. The team was fourth in pars with 178 and fifth in birdies with 43.
Nellie Ong shot a one-under 71 in round three, finishing the tournament tied for 13th place with a 54-hole score of 216 (E). Ong recorded her first career eagle, shooting two-under on the first hole. She birdied nine holes.
Faith Choi also carded a one-under 71 in the final round of play. She tied for 20th place with an overall score of 217 (+1). She recorded nine birdies during the tournament.
Joyce-Moreno shot 76 (+4) on Monday and finished with a 54-hole score of 224 (+8). She tied for 51st place and she had six birdies.
Mandy Song shot her best round of the tournament, a 73 (+1), to finish with a total score of 225 (+9) and tie for 55th place. She birdied six holes during the tournament.
Kavya Ajjarapu, who competed as an individual, carded an even 72 on Monday. She tied for 55th place with a 54-hole score of 225 (+9). She had nine birdies over the course of the tournament.
The Buckeyes compete next at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate March 3-5.
