Goalie made 11 saves in first start at Ohio State
COLUMBUS, Ohio – After making 11 saves to backstop the Ohio State women's lacrosse team to a season-opening win, junior goalie Jocelyn Torres has been named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.

Torres, from Glenwood, Md., and the Buckeyes held No. 15 Denver to just five goals Sunday. After three saves in the first half, she made four stops in both the third and fourth quarters. In all, the Buckeyes shut out the Pioneers for a stretch of nearly 35 minutes from the second through the fourth quarter en route to the 9-5 victory.

Ohio State will host Louisville at 10 a.m. Saturday in Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium. Admission and parking are free.
