COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State senior captains Mirann Gacioch and Molly Pritchard both had outstanding seasons and they were rewarded on Friday by being named United Soccer Coaches All-Americans.
This is just the fourth time in program history in which a pair of Buckeyes earned All-America honors in the same season. Gacioch and Pritchard join Nikki Walts and Morgan Wolcott in 2017, Cassie Dickerson and Paige Maxwell in 2010 and Lara Dickenmann and Melissa Miller in 2004.

Gacioch is the fourth Buckeye defender to earn All-America honors and the third center back. The West Falls, N.Y. native was the Buckeyes rock on the back line. She finished her career by playing every minute of each of the last 41 matches, including every match this season. She was key in helping the team set the program record for most consecutive shutouts (7) and the longest shutout streak (739:26) this season. She also earned first team All-Region and first team All-Big Ten honors this season.

Pritchard is just the second Buckeye goalkeeper to earn All-America status, joining Devon Kerr in 2018. Pritchard was the leader of the defense that had 11 shutouts this season as well as the program records for consecutive shutouts and the longest shutout streak. She made 78 saves this season and had a career-best 0.63 goals-against average. Pritchard is the program’s leader in career shutouts with 32 and is second in career saves with 306. She too earned first team All-Region and first team All-Big Ten honors this season as well as being named the Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year.
In total, Gacioch and Pritchard are the program’s 13th and 14th All-Americans. They helped lead the Buckeyes to an 11-5-6 overall record and a spot in the Elite 8 for just the third time in program history.
