The Buckeyes are now 6-1-1 on the season
COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 5 Ohio State fell 1-0 to the No. 21 UCLA Bruins Thursday evening in Los Angeles.
Ohio State battled through a scrappy first half. The Buckeye defense worked hard to keep the Bruins at bay, facing six shots in that first 45.
In the 25th minute, the Bruins broke through and scored, marking only the third goal allowed by the Buckeyes all season and the first occasion of them trailing the opponent.
Ohio State adjusted in the second, pressing more aggressively and tightening their formation when approaching the box.
Ava Greco led the Buckeyes offensively with three great headers that were ultimately saved by the Bruins goalkeeper.
The Buckeyes outshot UCLA 5-1 in shots on goal but were unable to find the equalizer.
