COLUMBUS, Ohio – Four Ohio State Buckeyes were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-North Region this season. Mirann Gacioch, Molly Pritchard and Amanda Schlueter claimed first team honors while Ava Bramblett was named to the fourth team.
This is just the third time in program history in which four Buckeyes earned All-Region honors, joining the 2017 squad that had five players honored and last year's team that also had four honorees.
For Schlueter, this is her second consecutive season earning first team accolades. She is just the fourth Buckeye to earn first team honors in multiple seasons, joining Kayla Fischer (2020, 2022), Izzy Rodriguez (2018, 2020) and Cassie Dickerson (2009, 2010). Schlueter led the team with a career-high 11 goals and also had five assists for 27 points. She shined in the Buckeyes' NCAA tournament run, scoring three goals and adding an assist in the four matches. Playing in her home state for the first time this year at Kentucky in September, the Union, Ky., native scored both goals in the 2-0 victory.
Gacioch was the Buckeyes rock on the back line. She finished her career by playing every minute of each of the last 41 matches, including every match this season. She was key in helping the team set the program record for most consecutive shutouts (7) and the longest shutout streak (739:26) this season. This is Gacioch's first All-Region honor.
Pritchard also claims her first All-Region honor. She was the leader of the defense that had 11 shutouts this season as well as the program records for consecutive shutouts and the longest shutout streak. She made 78 saves this season and had a career-best 0.63 goals-against average. Pritchard is the program's leader in career shutouts with 32 and is second in career saves with 306.
Bramblett earns All-Region honors for the second time in her career as she was a second team honoree last season. The junior captain was dominant in the midfield at times this season and finished the year with three goals and an assist. She scored the first two goals in the 3-0 win at Illinois this season, marking the first multi-goal match of her career.
