The Buckeyes record their second shutout of the season
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 19 Ohio State women's soccer team closed out its home opener road with a 1-0 victory over Kansas on Thursday evening in Columbus.
The Buckeyes battled the Jayhawks through a close first half, with both teams getting off seven shots a piece.
Captain Amanda Schlueter was able to capitalize on a turnover to open up scoring in the 40th minute with a right-footer into the back of the net.

Early in the second half, Schlueter connected with Bramblett and Britt for a great look that was ultimately saved by the Jayhawks goalkeeper, Sophie Dawe.
The Buckeyes defense was able to keep their cool in the second half against seven shots from the Jayhawks, securing the 1-0 win.
Goalkeeper Peighton Northrup made six saves this game to accomplish her second career shutout in her second career start.
