
WCHA Tabs Dunne, Svensson With November Awards

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women's hockey's Joy Dunne and Hilda Svensson earned monthly awards by the Western Collegiate Hockey Association for November, the league announced Wednesday. Dunne is the WCHA Forward of the Month and Svensson picks up her second WCHA Rookie of the Month award.
The duo helped Ohio State to a 7-0-0 record in November, including a 5-0-0 record against ranked opponents.
Dunne led the WCHA with nine goals and a plus-18 in seven games played in November. She also led league forwards with 19 points last month. The junior started the month with a career high four-goal and six-point performance against then-ranked No. 13 St. Thomas. She recorded a point in six of the seven games and five multiple point games. Dunne also tied for the team lead in blocked shots with six as the Buckeyes held opponents to just 1.00 goals per game.
Svensson also recorded five multiple point games, including two multi-goal games, in November. She led league rookies with 16 points, 2.29 points per game and a plus-14 in seven games. Svensson tallied a point in all but one game in November. The Oskarshamn, Sweden native scored her first career hat trick and had a career-high five-point game in the Buckeyes' 8-0 win over No. 10 Clarkson.
Svensson and Dunne lead the Buckeyes with 31 and 30 points, respectively, on the year. Dunne paces the team with 17 goals and Svensson leads the squad with 19 assists. The two are in the top 10 nationally in points.
