COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State is still alive! The Buckeyes have advanced to the round of 16 for the second consecutive season and for the sixth time in the program history and will take on No. 23 Baylor on Sunday afternoon in South Bend. Kickoff will be at 2 p.m. and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
- The Buckeyes are 18-17-2 in 36 NCAA Tournament matches, all of which have come under head coach Lori Walker-Hock.
- Sunday's match will be the first meeting all-time between Ohio State and Baylor.
- Ohio State is 11-16-1 all-time against teams currently in the Big 12 and 0-2-0 in the NCAA Tournament, losing to West Virginia both times.
- Ohio State is coming off one the best wins in program history, knocking off No. 2 Notre Dame 1-0 on Friday night in the second round.
- The win over Notre Dame was the highest ranked win in program and it was just the fifth win over a Top 10 team on the road.
- Sophomore Jadin Bonham's goal in the 110th minute pushed the Buckeyes through. It was just the fourth goal in the 110th minute or later in program history and the third latest overall.
- Junior defender Mia McSweeney played a beautiful cross to Bonham for the game-winner. The assist marked the first point for McSweeney as a Buckeye.
- The win also marked the eighth road win of the year for the Buckeyes, matching a single-season program record. The 2010 team also had eight road victories and that team finished the year in the College Cup.
- The 1-0 win over Notre Dame was the 11th shutout of the season. That trails just the 2004 and 2009 teams, which each had 13 shutouts.
- The Buckeyes have surrendered just 11 goals all season and is in the Top 10 nationally in both goals-against average and save percentage. The program record for fewest goals allowed in a season in 13.
- Senior goalkeeper Molly Pritchard was named the Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year as she is fourth in the country with a .433 goals-against average. She has 294 saves in her career, which is third-most in program, just eight behind Nicole Morris (1994-96) for second.
- Bonham now has three goals and three assists on the season. That matches her goal output from her freshman season.
- Baylor is 14-4-4 on the year and enters the third round following a 3-0 win over Texas State and a 1-0 win over Wisconsin on Thursday in South Bend.
