Ohio State had four double-figure scorers in the 88-68 win against Kent State on Wednesday.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The RV/RV Ohio State women's basketball team (3-1) beat Kent State (3-3) by an 88-68 margin on Wednesday evening on Our Honor Defend Military Appreciation Night.

Ohio State used an early 8-0 run to gain an 18-12 lead after 10 minutes of play. The second quarter featured back-and-forth play as Kent State captured its first lead of the quarter before the Buckeyes regained the lead and was ahead 36-35 at halftime. Ohio State came out of the locker room strong, scoring the first eight points of the third quarter en route to a 28-13 quarter to extend the lead to 64-48 with one quarter to play. The Buckeyes outscored the Golden Flashes 52-33 in second half for an 88-68 win.

T'yana Todd scored in double figures for the second consecutive game as she had 10 points in the first half on her way to 15 total points. Chance Gray (18), Kennedy Cambridge (10) and Jaloni Cambridge (19) joined Todd in double figures.

Quarter-by-Quarter Recap

Q1: Kent State opened scoring, but K. Cambridge drained a three-pointer on the next possession. The Buckeyes scored eight unanswered points and led by a 12-8 margin midway through the quarter. Neither team scored for the next three minutes and J. Cambridge capped the quarter's scoring with a jumper as the Buckeyes led 18-12.
Q2: The Golden Flashes scored the first three points of the quarter to get within three at 18-15. The teams traded baskets until the media timeout as the Buckeyes held a 26-21 advantage. Kent State scored seven unanswered points to take a 30-28 lead with 2:19 remaining in the half, the team's first lead since 2-0. K. Cambridge tied the game on the ensuing possession, followed by a three-pointer by Todd to regain the lead. Ohio State led 36-35 going into the locker room.
Q3: Ohio State started the third quarter with an 8-0 run to increase the lead to 44-35 just two minutes into the half. The Buckeyes extended their lead to 51-39 midway through the quarter after a pair of free throws from K. Cambridge. Ohio State got to the line down the stretch and led by a 62-48 margin after 30 minutes.
Q4: J. Cambridge scored to begin the fourth quarter and the Buckeyes held a 76-58 advantage midway through the final frame. The teams traded points as the quarter played on, with neither team scoring more than five answered points in the quarter. Seini Henry capped scoring from the line as the Buckeyes won by an 88-68 margin.
