Buckeyes Sweep Singles and Doubles Title at ITF $25K in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ty Tucker Tennis Center played host to an ITF $25K event last week and the Buckeyes held serve on their home courts. Jack Anthrop won the singles title while Nikita Filin and Brandon Carpico won the doubles crown.
Anthrop defeated teammate Aidan Kim for the singles title 7-6(1), 6-2. Both Buckeyes will open the 2025 NCAA Singles Tournament Tuesday in Orlando. Kim is the No. 3 overall seed.
At the ITF $25K, Anthrop swept matches against teammate JP Day (6-3, 6-1), Jules Leroux of France (6-2, 6-2), Gavin Young (USA/6-3, 6-4) and Kim. Anthrop defeated teammate and fellow 2025 NCAA singles qualifier Preston Stearns in the quarterfinals (4-6, 6-4, 6-4).
In doubles, Filin and Carpico, who along with Kim and Bryce Nakashima, open the 2025 NCAA Double Tournament Wednesday, won four matches on their way to the 25K doubles title.
In the first round, Filin/Carpico defeated Anthrop and future Buckeye Victor Lilov, 6-4, 6-2. Poland's Oskar Grzegorzewski/Fryderry Lechno-Wasiutynski then fell 6-3, 6-2 in the quarters.
In the semifinals, Filin/Carpico took down Adam Jones (GBR) and Hungary's Peter Makk (6-1, 6-4) before defeating Young/Sebastian Gorzny (USA), 6-3, 6-2, in the finals.
