COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State men's tennis will start its 113th season at home this Sunday when it hosts Toledo and Xavier. The match with Toledo will start at 10 a.m. followed by the match with Xavier at 2 p.m.
Admission and parking are free for all men's tennis matches.
- Against Toledo, Ohio State is 41-3. The Buckeyes have won 40-consecutive matches against the Rockets. Ohio State has swept Toledo 24 consecutive times dating back to Ty Tucker's first season in 2000 when the Buckeyes won 6-1. Last year, Ohio State beat Toledo 4-0 on the first day of the season.
- Against Xavier, Ohio State is 22-0 all-time. The Musketeers have scored just three points in the 22 matches. Last year, the Buckeyes beat Xavier 4-0 on the opening day of the season.
- Ohio State is opening its 113th season of tennis and will be led, once again, by Head Men's Tennis Coach, Senior Director of Tennis Operations and Special Assistant to the Athletics Director, Ty Tucker. Tucker is in his 27th season at the helm, totaling 747 wins as he sits as the ninth-winningest men's tennis head coach in Division I history.
- Ohio State went 13-0 against Big Ten opponents in the 2025 regular season, but was defeated by UCLA 4-3 in the 2025 Big Ten Championship
- In 2025, the Buckeyes made it to the Round of 16 in the 2025 NCAA Tournament for the 21st time in program history before losing to Mississippi State, 4-2.
- The Buckeyes open the season ranked No. 6 in the 2026 ITA preseason rankings.
- Aidan Kim earned All-America honors in 2025. In the fall of 2025, Kim finished as the runner-up at the 2025 ITA All-American Championships and advanced to the Round of 32 at NCAA Championships.
- Five Buckeyes are ranked in the preseason singles rankings. Kim leads the way at No. 5, followed by Jack Anthrop at No. 22, Nikita Filin at No. 42, Alex Okonkwo at No. 48 and Preston Stearns at No. 51.
- In doubles, Filin and Brandon Carpico finished second in the 2025 NCAA Doubles Championship in the fall, earning All-America status. Filin was named as a player to watch in 2026 by the Big Ten Conference. Aidan Kim and Bryce Nakashima also earned All-America recognition in doubles last fall.
- Five Ohio State pairs were named in the preseason doubles rankings including three teams in the Top 10. Kim and Bryce Nakashima at No. 3, followed by Carpico and Filin at No. 5, Alexander Bernard and Okonkwo at No. 10, Anthrop and Loren Byers at No. 26 and Anthrop and Stearns at No. 32.
- Next weekend, the Buckeyes will host the ITA Kickoff Weekend as they welcome North Alabama, Purdue and Old Dominion.
