Buckeyes Hit the Road for Series at No. 7 Wisconsin

Teams will meet in Big Ten matchup
The Basics

- After an open weekend, the Ohio State men's hockey team returns to action with two games at No. 7 Wisconsin this weekend.Â
- The Buckeyes and Badgers will meet at 8 p.m. ET Friday and 7 p.m. ET Saturday in the Kohl Center in Madison, Wis.
- Both games will be streamed through B1G+.
- Ohio State Radio will carry the series (WBNS-FM-HD2, streamed on espncolumbus.com and OhioStateBuckeyes.com and on the Ohio State Buckeyes app).Â

- Ohio State is 4-4 on the year, 0-2 in the Big Ten, and last played Oct. 30-31, dropping two one-goal games to Penn State (2-3, 3-4). The Badgers are 7-1-2 on the year, with a 1-1 B1G ledger, and split a series at Michigan last weekend (L 4-7, W 6-1).
- Ohio State is 36-28-5 all-time vs. Wisconsin and leads the regular season series since the start of Big Ten play, 29-14-5, with a 35-17-6 mark overall since 2013-14 (including postseason play).Â
- In Madison, Wis., Ohio State leads the series all-time, 15-13-3.
- Last season, the Buckeyes were 6-1 vs. Wisconsin.Â
- The teams faced off to open Big Ten play, with a series in Madison Oct. 18-19. Ohio State posted a 2-1 overtime win and a 2-1 win for a sweep. Feb. 14-15, the squads met in Columbus. The Buckeyes posted a sweep with 4-1 and 4-2 victories.
- The teams then met in a Big Ten Tournament quarterfinal series in Columbus. The Badgers took game one, 4-1. Ohio State prevailed 3-2 in overtime in game two and then won game three, 3-2, to advance to the semifinals.Â
- Davis Burnside leads the current Buckeyes with 18 games played against Wisconsin, while Max Montes has skated in 14 contests vs. the Badgers and Nathan McBrayer, William Smith and Thomas Weis have all played in 13 games against UW. Burnside and Montes both have seven goals against the Badgers. Burnside has four assists for 11 points and Montes has three helpers for 10 points. Riley Thompson notched four goals and five points combined in the seven games against Wisconsin last year.Â
- Ohio State head coach Steve Rohlik is a 1990 graduate of Wisconsin, where he was a captain on the Badgers' national championship team.
- Buckeye junior forward Thomas Weis is a native of Madison, Wis., and his classmate Max Montes is from Hartland, Wis.Â
- Wisconsin is 7-1-2 on the year, with its first loss at Michigan last week, as it split a series with the Wolverines to open Big Ten play.Â
- The Badgers lead the NCAA on the power play (.356) and are fourth in scoring offense (4.10 goals per game) and scoring margin (+2.20). The squad is second in the nation in faceoff winning percentage (.568) and ranks eighth in scoring defense (1.90 goals allowed per game).
- The series at Wisconsin opens a stretch of three straight road matchups for the Buckeyes. The team will travel to Michigan Nov. 21-22 before two nonconference games at Arizona State Nov. 28-29. The next home games are Dec. 4-5 at home and wrap up the 2025 portion of the schedule.

- Ohio State is 29-for-35 (.829) on the penalty kill this season. After going 7-for-8 in game one vs. Penn State in game one, the Nittany Lions tallied three power play goals on five chances in game two.
- The Buckeyes are 6-for-33 (.182) with the man advantage through eight games. Felix Caron and Riley Thompson both have two power play goals, with Nathan Lewis and Davis Burnside also tallying with the man advantage.
- This season, the Buckeyes are averaging 33.5 shots on goal a night, allowing 27.5 a contest.
- The Buckeyes will play at No. 2 Michigan next weekend, with puck drop set for 7 p.m. Nov. 21 and 22. Big Ten Plus will stream both games and Ohio State Radio will carry the action.
