Buckeyes Recognized as AHCA All-American Scholars

Five Ohio State players honored

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- For the second year in a row, five members of the Ohio State men's hockey team have been recognized as AHCA All-American Scholars, the American Hockey Coaches Association announced. To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 grade-point average for each semester during 2025-26 and had to appear in at least 40 percent of the team's games. The five honorees matches the most in program history in a single season.

Juniors Ryan Gordon and Thomas Weis and sophomore James Hong are all now two-time All-American Scholars and Ohio State now has had six players earn the distinction multiple times.

Senior Ethan Straky, in his first campaign at Ohio State, and freshman Niall Crocker both earned the honor for the first time.

All five Buckeyes were named Ohio State Scholar-Athletes this year and Gordon, Weis and Hong received Academic All-Big Ten accolades.
