Ohio State Hosts No. 12 Purdue Thursday Night

The Buckeyes and Boilermakers will play for the only time this season on Thursday at 7 p.m. on student appreciation night.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's volleyball team (3-9, 0-4 B1G) hosts No. 12 Purdue (12-2, 3-1 B1G) on Thursday evening in a 7 p.m. first serve. The match will be broadcast live on FS1. Parking to all home matches is free.

Thursday is the student appreciation match. All Ohio State students are free to all home matches with their BuckID with the first 400 students receiving a free T-shirt. Ohio State students can also enjoy discounted concessions between 6-7 p.m.

- Ohio State took its west coast trip this past weekend, falling to Washington (22-25, 25-21, 19-25, 19-25) and Oregon (21-25, 20-25, 17-25). The Buckeyes enter the match with a 3-9 overall record.
- Redshirt freshman Kaia Castle led the Buckeye offense against the Ducks, tying her career-high 12 kills. Against the Huskies, Ohio State had three players with 10+ kills apiece - Hannah Jones (16), Reese Wuebker (14) and Ashley Carr (11). Carr tied her career-high in kills and hit a team-leading .500.
- Jones leads the Buckeye offense and ranks ninth in the conference with 3.79 kills/set. Olivia Hasbrook leads Ohio State in digs/set (3.53) to rank seventh in the Big Ten.
- No. 12 Purdue enters the match with a 12-2 overall record and a 3-1 mark in Big Ten play. The Boilermakers own conference wins over Washington, then No. 24 UCLA and then No. 17 USC. Purdue's only conference loss was to Illinois.
- On Monday, Kenna Wollard was named Big Ten Player of the Week and Ryan McAleer was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.
- Wollard ranks third in the B1G with 4.75 kills/set, while setter Taylor Anderson is third in assists/set (10.62). Defensively, McAleer is fifth with 3.60 digs/set.
- Ohio State trails 46-48 in the all-time series against Purdue but has the 23-17 advantage when facing the Boilermakers in Columbus.
- Last season, the Buckeyes fell in straight sets (26-28, 19-25, 25-27) to a top 10 ranked Purdue team. Hasbrook recorded 10 digs in the match.
- The most recent meeting in Columbus took place on Oct. 15, 2023 when the Buckeyes lost in four sets (19-25, 25-17, 21-25, 26-28).
