Kim Reeder is one of the most decorated softball players in school history, as she still holds program records for innings pitched (763.2) and wins (77) and is second in strikeouts (706). As a senior in 2009, she set a single-season record with 26 wins and 11 shutouts while helping Ohio State advance to its first NCAA Super Regional. Reeder struck out 215 batters in 199.0 innings and was a Third Team All-American.
Reeder finished her career with a 77-41 record, a 1.55 earned run average and 706 strikeouts. During her sophomore season in 2007, Reeder’s efforts in the circle helped the Buckeyes win the Big Ten Tournament championship. Two years later, as a senior in 2009, she earned First Team All-Big Ten honors and became just the second pitcher in program history to be named an All-American. She graduated with a degree in communications and was a four-time OSU Scholar-Athlete.
Following her Ohio State career, Reeder spent three seasons in professional softball, playing overseas in the Italian Softball League and in Australia. In 222 innings of work in the circle, she had a 1.26 ERA, averaging 1.7 strikeouts per inning.
