COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 21 Ohio State will travel north this weekend for a Top 25 Showdown at No. 16 Michigan State. First touch Sunday will be at 2 p.m. and the match will be televised on BTN.
- The Buckeyes are 16-12-2 all-time against Michigan State. The teams have drawn the last two meetings, the only two draws in the series.
- Last season, the teams met in a Top 15 matchup in Columbus and finished in a 2-2 tie. Kailyn Dudukovich scored twice, including the tying goal in the 61st minute. The Buckeyes were on the front foot the entire second half, outshooting the Spartans 12-4 in the final 45 minutes.
- The Buckeyes have shutout their last seven opponents which is the longest match streak in program history. They didn't allow a goal the entire month of September!
- Ohio State has not allowed a goal since late in the first half against Princeton on Aug. 28. That spans 678:16 of game action, which is the second-longest stretch in program history. The Buckeyes are just 9:11 seconds away from matching the longest streak in school history.
- The three goals allowed through the first 11 matches are the fewest in the first 11 matches of a season in program history. The fewest goals allowed in a season is 13.
- The Buckeyes are tied for fourth nationally in goals-against average at 0.273. Goalkeeper Molly Pritchard has started every game this season and is third nationally with a career-best 0.282 goals-against average.
- Pritchard is tied with Lauren Robertson (2006-09) for most career shutouts in program history with 29.
- Senior defender and captain Mirann Gacioch has also played a big role in the shutout streak and she was named the Big Ten Defender of the Week last week for her part in a pair of road shutouts.
- Ava Bramblett scored two goals in the 3-0 win last Sunday at Illinois, marking the first multi-goal game of her career.
