Buckeyes Well Represented in Regional Quarterfinals

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State enters the quarterfinals in both singles and doubles with four representatives in each event Sunday at the ITA Midwest Regional at the XS Tennis Center in Chicago. DePaul is the host school for the event.

The two singles finalists and the doubles champion from each regional will automatically qualify for the NCAA Individual Championships, set to take place at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida, Nov. 18-23, 2025.

In singles, Alex Okonkwo, Jack Anthrop, Preston Stearns and Loren Byers advanced to the quarters with three wins each since the event began last Thursday.

Doubles teams of Nikita Filin and Brandon Carpico, Alexander Bernard and Okonkwo, Anthrop and Byers and Aidan Kim and Bryce Nakashima all remain in contention for titles.

Junior Aidan Kim was the runner-up at the 2005 ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in September. He earned an automatic bid into the NCAA individual championships and will not compete in singles during the remaining fall collegiate schedule prior to the NCAA championships.
