COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 22 Ohio State will host a big-time match on Sunday afternoon against Big Ten leading Washington. Both teams are undefeated in conference play. This will also be the final regular season home match for the Buckeyes. Kickoff is set for noon and the match will be streamed on B1G+.
Admission and parking are free for all Ohio State women’s soccer matches.
- Sunday's match will be the fourth all-time meeting between Ohio State and Washington and the first since 2006. The Huskies lead the series 2-1.
- The teams first met in Ann Arbor, Mich., in 2000 with Washington winning 3-1. They then split a home-and-home series in 2004 and 2006 with each winning on its home field.
- Ohio State and Washington are two of just three unbeaten teams in Big Ten play this season and both are coming off 1-0 victories on Thursday evening.
- The Buckeyes beat Oregon 1-0 behind freshman Riley Lijewski's first collegiate goal. The shutout was also the ninth of the season for the Buckeyes and the 30th of the career for senior captain Molly Pritchard. She is now the program's all-time leader in career shutouts.
- The Buckeyes continue to own one of the best defenses in the country. Ohio State leads the country with a 0.308 goals-against average and is tied for third with those nine shutouts.
- Earlier this year, the Buckeyes had a school-record streak of seven consecutive shutouts, which included a school-record 739:26 shutout streak.
- Pritchard has started every match this season and is third in the country with a 0.317 goals-against average.
- Through 13 matches, Ohio State has surrendered just four goals, and just one at home. The program record for fewest goals allowed in a season is 13.
- Junior Ava Bramblett was named to the Midseason Hermann Award Watch List this week.
- Washington started its road trip with a 1-0 victory at Penn State on Thursday. Jadyn Holdenried scored on a PK in the 18th minute and the defense made it hold up.
- The Huskies are enjoying a banner year. The program has lost four or fewer matches just once in the last 25 years and that came during the COVID season in the spring of 2021.
