Ohio State moves to 4-1-1 on the season
COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 17 Ohio State completed its first road trip of the season by battling in a 1-0 setback to No. 13 Auburn.
The Buckeyes are now 4-1-1 on the season and will open Big Ten play on Thursday night.
How it Happened
In the opening half, Amanda Schlueter had an early chance to give the Buckeyes the lead, but after VAR reviewed the play, it was called offside.
Both teams battled but went scoreless in the first half. Auburn led on shots and corner kicks.
In the second half, Auburn got on the board first in the 49th minute. This rallied Ohio State as they continued to knock on Auburn's door but couldn’t convert. The Buckeyes led with five shots in the second half.
Up Next
The Buckeyes head to Bloomington, Ind., for their first Big Ten matchup of the season next Thursday. Kickoff is set for 7:30 and will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
