COLUMBUS, Ohio – The underclassmen shined as No. 17 Ohio State shutout Navy 4-0 in the first road match of the season for the Buckeyes. Sophomore Amanda Schlueter had an outstanding night with two goals and two assists to help keep the Buckeyes undefeated on the year at 4-0-1.
Schlueter now has a trio of goals and assists on the season and the six points were her most in a match in her career.
Freshman Jadin Bonham continued her great start to the season, notching her second goal of the season in the 19th minute. Fellow freshman Maliyah Morrison and redshirt-freshman Lily Danner each recorded assists on the team’s third goal of the opening half.
Senior Kailyn Dudukovich opened the scoring early, notching her sixth goal of the season just three minutes into the match. She is now just one goal away from matching her start from last year, seven goals in the first six matches, which was the best start in program history.
In goal, juniors Molly Pritchard and Arden La-Rose had a light evening, seeing just one shot that went wide of the net. They combined to record the third shutout of the season.
For the second consecutive match, the Buckeyes were dominant on the ball. They held an 18-1 advantage in shots, including a 10-0 margin in shots on goal.
How it Happened
Kailyn Dudukovich opened up the scoring early in the match with a goal in the third minute. Amanda Schlueter assisted on the goal, setting Dudukovich up in the corner of the box where she beat the Navy goalkeeper to the upper back post.
