COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 1/5 Ohio State women's hockey team makes its first road trip of the 2024-25 season this weekend to Bemidji State. The Buckeyes (0-2-0, 0-2-0 WCHA) and Beavers (0-0-0, 0-0-0 WCHA) face off at 7 p.m. ET Friday and 4 p.m. ET Saturday.

Buckeyes in a Nutshell

The Buckeyes started the 2024-25 season with a WCHA series against then-No. 7 Minnesota Duluth. Each game was decided by one goal, with the Bulldogs taking both games, 2-1 and 4-3.
In the opening weekend of the season, eight Buckeyes registered a point. Emma Peschel, Jordyn Petrie and Jenna Buglioni lead the team with two points on one goal and one assist in the series.
Petrie, Sara Swiderski and Maddi Wheeler tallied their first points in the Buckeye sweater in the first series of the year. Petrie scored the team's first goal of the season, and her first career goal, less than two minutes into the season. All three players recorded an assist in game two against Minnesota Duluth.
Kiara Zanon tallied the Buckeyes' first power play goal of the season in Saturday's game. In 2023-24, Zanon scored just once on the power play for Ohio State. She has scored 10 PPG for her career.
The Buckeye penalty kill is 5-for-6 (.833) through two games this season.
In goal, both Amanda Thiele and Hailey MacLeod started a game for Ohio State this year. Thiele made 12 saves for a .867 save percentage in game one and MacLeod made 26 saves for a .857 save percentage.
On the Buckeyes' 2024-25 roster, six student-athletes have played in more than 100 collegiate games – Riley Brengman (133), Buglioni (134), Makenna Webster (122), Wheeler (138), Zanon (133) and Emily Zumwinkle (116).

Series History – Buckeyes vs. Beavers

Ohio State went 6-0-0 against Bemidji State last season and outscored the Beavers, 52-4, on the year.
The Buckeyes are 62-29-13 all-time against Bemidji State and have won the last 13 games in the series.
The last time the teams met was in the quarterfinals of the 2023-24 WCHA Tournament. Ohio State won the games 10-1 and 8-0 to advance to the Final Faceoff.
