
Five Buckeyes are Bound for Peru and the Junior World Championships

Competition begins Sept. 28 and runs through Oct. 7
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Five Ohio State pistol student-athletes are headed to Lima, Peru this week to begin competition at the 2024 Junior World Championships, which runs Sept. 26 through October 7. They are: Riya Salian (Women's 25m Sport), Johnathan Dorsten (Men's 25m Sport), Marcus Klemp (Men's 10m Air), Blaine Simpson (25m Rapid) and Panagiota Charalampous (Women's 25m Sport and Women's 10m Air). Charalampous will represent Cyprus while the other four participants will represent the United States.
The opening ceremonies occur on Friday, Sept. 27 and competition ramps up the next day, Saturday, Sept. 28. For a full schedule of events, CLICK HERE. In addition to an updated schedule, fans can also track results and get more information all throughout the championships by clicking HERE.
An ISSF junior athlete is classified as an athlete 21 and under. Athletes will remain juniors until the 31st of December of the year in which they become 21 years of age. Any athlete born between the 1st of January and the 31st of December, will cease to be a junior on the 31st of December of that year.
