COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 17 Ohio State opens a three-match homestand this weekend with a big match against No. 18 Iowa on Thursday evening at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and the match will be streamed on B1G+.
Admission and parking are free for all Ohio State women’s home matches.
- This will be 25th all-time meeting between the two teams and just the second in the last five seasons. The Buckeyes lead the all-time series 17-7-1.
- In the team's last meeting, the Buckeyes got a first half goal from Kailyn Dudukovich and a second half goal from Kine Flotre to down the Hawkeyes 2-0 on Sept. 25 in Columbus.
- This will be the Buckeyes' fourth matchup with a ranked opponent this season as they currently own the eighth-toughest schedule in the country. The Buckeyes have a 1-1-1 record in the previous three ranked matchups this season.
- Iowa enters with an unblemished 6-0-2 overall record and has recorded six consecutive shutouts. The Hawkeyes have surrendered just two goals this season with the last one coming in a 1-1 draw with Western Michigan on Aug. 22.
- The Buckeyes are ranked for the fifth-consecutive week in the USC Coaches Poll, checking in at No. 20.
- The first RPI of the season was released on Sept. 16 and the Buckeyes are at No. 5 while Iowa is No. 12.
- Ohio State opened Big Ten play with a 3-0 shutout at Indiana last Thursday and carry a 6-1-1 overall record.
- A win on Thursday would tie the best start, in terms of points, through nine matches in program history.
- Senior forward Kailyn Dudukovich leads the team with eight goals on the season. She scored a pair of goals in the first Big Ten match at Indiana last week.
- Sophomore Amanda Schlueter has four goals and three assists over the last four matches.
- Fellow sophomore Ava Bramblett recorded her first career assist in the win at Indiana and then scored her first goal of the season in the win over Brown last week. She has also been a rock on the back line, helping the team record five total shutouts.
- Junior goalkeeper Molly Pritchard has a 0.28 GAA, surrendering just two goals. She has led the squad in five total shutouts, which matches last season's total.
- The Buckeyes have 18 freshmen and sophomores on the roster with seven of their 11 starters are underclassmen.
