No. 17 Ohio State Draws with No. 18 Iowa 1-1

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Thursday evening at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium featured a quality Top 20 battle as No. 17 Ohio State played to a 1-1 draw with No. 18 Iowa in the second Big Ten match of the season for both teams.
Sophomore forward Amanda Schlueter broke through early with a goal in the ninth minute, her fifth goal in the last five matches, to put the Buckeyes (6-1-2, 1-0-1) up 1-0. The Hawkeyes (6-0-3, 1-0-1) then countered with a goal midway through the second half to pull even.
The Buckeyes had a late flurry with a couple of really nice chances but couldn’t find the back of the net.

How it Happened
In the 9th minute, Ohio State opened up the scoring early. With a pass from Jadin Bonham at midfield, Amanda Schlueter took on the Iowa defense and beat the goalkeeper to the low left post. This was Schlueter's sixth goal of the season and Jadin Bonham's fourth assist of the season.
Iowa leveled the game in the 68th minute.
