Ohio State moves to 3-0-1 on the season
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Thursday afternoon, No. 16 Ohio State battled No. 21 South Carolina for the majority of the contest but ended with a 1-1 draw. With the draw, the Buckeyes remain undefeated on the year.
Ella Giannola scored her first goal of the season and her fifth career goal. Jadin Bonham earned her third assist in her third consecutive game.
How it Happened
The Buckeyes went scoreless in the first half but had plenty of chances. Ohio State led with 11 shots compared on South Carolinas 5 shots.
In the second in half the Buckeyes led on shots 12-6.
With 19 minutes to go in the second half, Ella Giannola found the back of the net. A pass from Jadin Bonham found an unmarked Giannola just inside the box to beat the keeper to the far post.
At the 85th minute, South Carolina leveled the score with a free kick in front of the box.

The Buckeyes hit the road for the first time this season for back-to-back away games next week. On Thursday, Ohio State faces Navy in Annapolis, Maryland with a 7pm kickoff. Sunday afternoon, the Buckeyes face off against No. 13 Auburn in Auburn, Alabama. Kick off for Sunday is set for 12pm.
