Dingler Called Up by Tigers, Set to Make MLB Debut

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Former Ohio State baseball catcher Dillon Dingler was called up by the Detroit Tigers on Monday and is expected to make his MLB debut tonight against the Cleveland Guardians.
Dingler was selected by the Tigers in the second round of the 2020 MLB Draft with the 38th overall pick. Dingler, the Tigers' No. 11 prospect, has had a phenomenal season with the Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens. He is batting .308 with 44 runs scored, 81 hits, 17 home runs and 52 RBIs.
Dingler has played 352 Minor League games and is batting .257 on his career with 208 runs scored, 333 hits, 59 home runs and 214 RBIs.
Dingler is one of three Buckeyes currently active in the MLB, joining Dominic Canzone (Seattle Mariners) and former Ohio State teammate Ryan Feltner (Colorado Rockies). Pitcher Jacob Bosiokovic was called up by the St. Louis Cardinals last month but was assigned back to Triple-A Memphis.
